2006 MADC Convention in Williamsburg

As a member of the MADC (Madame Alexander Doll Club), the owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles had so hoped to attend the 2006 MADC Convention in Williamsburg, Virginia, this past weekend (June 23 - June 25). Unfortunately, those plans never became reality.

Brenda has stayed in touch with one of the MADC Board of Directors, Terri Queen, (who, by the way, is one very special person.) Anyway, Terri has commented that the convention held in Wiliamsburg, Virginia, this year was wonderful and definitely a resounding success. Next year's convention is already scheduled to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

If any of you are interested in joining the MADC, please email us and we can send you additional information on how to join.

Incidentally, contained within the 2006 Madame Alexander Fall Catalog, there is a Cissy doll, which will become available in October, named "Bewitching Salem Cissy". Her outfit was designed by MADC Design Contest Winner Manny Ferreira from the 2005 MADC Convention. Isn't this great that the Alexander Doll Company is using his creation?

It will be great to see the return of Madame Alexander's Lissy doll. (She received rave reviews when introduced at this year's MADC Convention). This doll is considered Wendy's big sister, and was created in tribute to her reintroduction in 1993. She has a newly sculpted face and body that truly captures the beauty and innocence of the 1956 original favorite. Lissy will be an excellent addition to any collection. These two new releases (Spring Parade Lissy and Homecoming Lissy) should become available in September and are both from a limited edition of 400 dolls.

Had a great time at the MADC 2006 convention. Virginia is such a beautiful place to visit. Will you be stocking The Lady of the Lake, the Cissy doll that premiered at the convention? http://www.madc.org/conv06cissy.htm
