Annalise Paulinette by Pauline Dolls

Beacon's Glow Collectibles just received in the most recent copy of Doll Reader which contains all of the nominees for the 2008 DOTY (Doll of the Year) Public Choice nominees. As is always the case, all of these categories contain so many wonderful dolls. It certainly makes it difficult to choose only one from each category to submit a DOTY ballot.

Within the "Manufacturer's Artist Doll, Less than $150" there is listed a beautiful doll from the Pauline Gift Company named Annalise. There is already quite a bit of interest by collectors to obtain this doll. We have spoken with Ernst Jacobsen, Pauline's son, and are lucky in the fact that we have already placed our order for Annalise. She is expected to be shipping to retailers the last week of June. Please stay posted for further details, and we will be sure to let you know if her arrival gets delayed. (Photos to be forthcoming).

Additionally, we have been told that both Edwina and Anastassia will be shipping out to retailers towards the end of this week. We are so excited to receive in these new 2008 Paulinettes. Both of these editions are limited to only 200 collectible dolls, and many customers have already asked us to hold one of each (Edwina and Anastassia) for them. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in putting either of these dolls on hold, as the number of dolls that we will be receiving is rather limited as many have already been spoken for.

Incidentally, Anastassia as also been nominated for a 2008 DOTY Public Choice Award. Please keep in mind that the deadline for submitting your ballot is June 1, 2008.

Steiff's Alpaca Classic Teddy Bear Leopard (EAN 420696)

Beacon's Glow Collectibles received in a quite unique and distinctive piece by Steiff yesterday that we wanted to tell you a bit about. This Alpaca Classic Teddy Bear Leopard is a classic ambassador of the Teddy bear species, but at first glance looks as if he just escaped from the jungle.

His beautiful leopard-like patterned fur looks so real. This leopard is 16 inches tall (40 cm) and his soft tan fur is made of alpaca and his leopard spots have been painted by hand by one of Steiff's wonderfully talented German artists. His mouth and nose are hand-sewn and hist\ paws are made of felted wool. He even has one of Steiff's classic growler mechanisms contained within.

This Alpaca Classic Teddy Bear Leopard is the first of three unmistakable bear representatives that were created by the artist, Peter Lorenz, from Leverkusen, Germany, on the occasion of the 2005 Teddy Bear Parade in Giengen, Germany. Incidentally, the original was made of a fiberglass synthetic material.

In the future, Steiff will be introducing this Leopard's friends - Teddy bear "Tiger" and Teddy bear "Zebra" that will soon follow in the Steiff footsteps of this lovable Teddy bear Leopard.

Alpaca Classic Teddy Bear Leopard (EAN 420696) is from Steiff's Classic Collection and comes from a limited edition of 2008 pieces worldwide. Of course, he comes with Steiff's classic "Button in Ear' trademark tag.
