PRCOM-January 16, 2017 – Did you know that the owner of Beacon's Glow Collectibles, Brenda Mize, makes OOAK handmade dolls from Dianna Effner Little Darling doll sculpts?

'Eyes of Texas Dolls' was created in early 2015 and is located in the heart of Texas in a town called Pflugerville which is directly north of Austin, Texas. Brenda Mize, doll face-up artist thoroughly enjoys making every one of her dolls. Each one-of-a-kind (OOAK) doll has hand-painted eyes that truly makes each doll unique and gives each their own distinct personality.

Living in Texas for most of her life, it made sense to name the dolls with a Texan theme. As she likes to say "it's all in the eyes". No doubt about it, her favorite part is painting each doll's eyes.

For many years she admired the world famous doll artist, Dianna Effner. And ever since she was a child, she has loved to dabble in both artistic and crafty endeavors and had always dreamed of doll making. In 2015 this doll-making endeavor became possible with the ability to use doll molds from Dianna Effner Little Darling Dolls. Each doll is made from an extremely durable porcelain-like material and is hand finished. No two ever turn out exactly the same. Most are made entirely from porcelain-like material and some have hand-made cloth bodies.

No doubt about it her favorite part of the whole process is painting the eyes of each doll.

From time to time, Brenda also gets to put her sewing skills to use by creating dresses for these dolls.

She has said that it is enjoyable learning the process as she is pretty much self-taught. Through trial and error, she has developed a process that seems to work. And as time goes on, she continues to hone her skills.

Brenda was thrilled to learn that one of her Eyes of Texas Dolls named "Little Darling in Violet" won the prestigious 2016 DOLLS Award of Excellence Industry's Choice Award in the category of Doll Face Up-Repaint.

Besides this brand new website (eyesoftexasdolls.com), Brenda's Eyes of Texas Dolls are sold exclusively on the Beacon's Glow Collectibles website (www.beaconsglow.com).
